History: 1500 F30a Flat cars with
cast steel frames were assembled at the PRR Pitcairn Shops in 1934. The
car was 49' 4-3/4" over the platforms. During 1941 the AAR designated
the design as a war-emergency standard to be used by other roads. In 1968
there were 1203 F-30's on PRR's roster and in 1980 there were 39 F30a's
on roster as Conrail cars. Some of the sub-classes were of welded construction
and are identical in appearence to the F30a. In the middle 50's many were
converted to piggyback service and later became TTX cars. Paint and lettering
schemes will include PRR, Penn Central, Conrail and others as we can identify
other roads that used them.
Ordering: You can order any quantity. Different
road numbers are available indicated by the following keys in the "Description":
we have 3 road numbers available if the first letter is a plus sign [+]
and we have 12 road numbers if the first letter is an asterisk [*]
.
Listing of Available Models and Associated Car Numbers: The list
below identifies the cars and roadnames that are currently available. Underlined
part numbers have pictures available for you to see on-line by clicking on part
